Jana Lauren Harris was born in Anniston, Alabama but quickly set her sights on Atlanta and attending law school. While attending Woodrow Wilson College of Law, she assisted Edward Garland, Esq. in some of his highest-profile trials in the Southeast. A member of the Bar in Georgia since 1981, she has also served as manager of the firm, and has studied jury selection and jury persuasion as a trial consultant for over fifteen years, handling focus groups and mock trials within the firm, Her focus is on criminal litigation, the majority of which is Federal white collar crime, but handles all types of criminal matters and litigation. She also participates in the representation of plaintiffs, and many other matters within her litigation practice at Garland, Samuel & Loeb, P.C. She is a champion in highlighting the stigma of mental illness within the justice system and has successfully defended those in need of treatment.
