Head-on Collision Likely Result Of Road Rage Incident

Incidents of road rage occur all too often on the streets of Atlanta, sometimes with devastating effects. Drivers may feel like they are anonymous inside their own vehicles and that can give them the confidence to act out in way that they may not otherwise do in a face-to-face situation.

A fatal car accident that occurred recently in Gainesville, Georgia is thought to have been caused by road rage. A couple were driving their SUV just after midnight when they became alarmed enough by the actions of a pick-up truck that was tailing them to call 911. On the call, the couple told authorities that the driver was flashing his lights on and off, and at one point he hit the back of them.

When the pick-up attempted to pass the couple, it slammed head-on into another SUV that was headed in the opposite direction. The couple told the 911 dispatcher that the pickup was probably going about 70 miles an hour before the crash.

The 20-year-old driver of the other SUV was killed; her two passengers were transported to the hospital. The 48-year-old driver of the pickup truck was also killed in the collision.

The occupants in the SUV were innocent victims who were apparently caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. Because of the careless actions of one driver, their lives were forever changed. Those who were injured and the family of the woman who was killed may wish to speak with a personal injury attorney regarding their right to compensation.
