Parents Sue Drug Manufacturers After Child’s Death

The death of a child is a parent’s worst nightmare in Fulton County, Georgia. Knowing that he or she may have done something to contribute to the child’s death is something that can be completely devastating for a parent.

Parents of a 2-year-old child who died after taking Children’s Tylenol know this all too well. They have filed a lawsuit against the makers of the drug, Johnson & Johnson, along with McNeil Consumer Healthcare, Costco and others. They claim that the Children’s Tylenol was manufactured in a filthy and contaminated plant that was later shut down. They also say that Johnson & Johnson was aware that the medicine contained impurities and was tainted, but instead of issuing a recall, they used unethical methods to hide these problems from the public. The company is also accused of ignoring faulty production and problems with quality control at the plant.

The child began spitting up blood after his mother administered the Tylenol. The next day he died of liver failure. His parents are suing for violation of consumer protection law, wrongful death and products liability, among other damages.

These parents have no doubt suffered untold amounts of emotional distress and grief over the loss of their child. They did the right thing by hiring a lawyer to go to bat for them and work toward getting them the compensation they deserve for their child’s death. Hopefully their lawsuit will enable them to achieve a sense of justice and move forward with their lives.
