Car accidents in Fulton County, Georgia can be caused by a number of things. Some of these include driver distraction, drunk driving, disobeying traffic laws, unsafe road conditions and inclement weather. Drivers need to be aware of what is going on around them at all times and pay due diligence to the road. Those who fail to do this are often surprised at just how quickly things can go from fine to devastating.
Extra care should be taken in instances where there is a lot of traffic on the roadway, as a recent news story about a fatal accident demonstrates. A 21-year-old was driving his pickup truck northbound on I-516. Apparently there was heavy traffic at the time, because vehicles were stopped in the congestion just ahead of the man. It appears that he was either unaware of the traffic or not paying attention to his surroundings, because after he crossed an overpass, he crashed into the back of another car that was stopped. The impact was so great that it sent that car into an SUV in front of it, causing both automobiles to crash into the median guardrail.
The 43-year-old man who was driving the car was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was reported injured in the accident.
The family of the man killed in this accident may wish to consult with an attorney experienced in personal injury law to determine if they have a case for wrongful death. If so, they may be entitled to compensation for their loved one's death and funeral expenses.
